Penelopes Flowers

What to expect

From our studio, to their vase Everything that happens from your order being placed to delivery.

Your stems are bought fresh, just for you

We make one promise: your flowers are bought fresh, just for your order. The moment you pay, our system automatically orders your stems from the wholesaler. It also means an order cannot be cancelled once placed: the flowers are already on their way to becoming yours. Spot a slip in the address or the day? Tell us immediately and we will try to catch it.

Built to your stem count, plus spares

Your bouquet is hand tied in our studio to the exact stem count you chose, the one shown on the product page and itemised with prices on your confirmation. We pop a few extra stems in as well, on us, so a single stem never spoils the gift. The stem count promise explains it all.

Travelling in Liquid Gold

Your stems travel in PENELOPES Liquid Gold, our transport gel, inside protective packaging, sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery. The gel feeds the flowers for the journey plus a few hours more, by design. That is why the box is strictly a travel home, not a storage one.

The day we aim for

The day you choose is the day we aim for. Your bouquet is sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery by 1pm, and any Royal Mail delays are completely out of our control. Someone should be around to receive the flowers, or leave a safe place note at checkout. If your bouquet arrives after 1pm, the delivery fee promise kicks in.

The five things to do on arrival

This little routine is why we can fix almost anything the same day.

  1. Scan before you open. Find the big FreshProof QR sticker on the box and scan it with your phone camera before you open anything. It takes seconds and links straight to your order.
  2. Unbox straight away. Your flowers have travelled and they are hungry for fresh water. The box is for the journey, never for storing or gifting.
  3. Spot something wrong? Photograph it. Photograph each affected stem on its own, then all of them together, and finish the FreshProof report. It comes straight to us, linked to your order, so we can decide quickly.
  4. Trim, water, follow the care card. Trim the stems at an angle, get them into fresh water, and follow the care instructions in the FreshProof flow. They are written for our flowers and our travel gel.
  5. Tell us within 24 hours. Anything not right needs to reach us within 24 hours of delivery, with photos taken on arrival. After that we cannot know how the flowers have been stored, so it becomes very hard for us to help.

Fast, fair, stem by stem

Report through FreshProof within 24 hours and, once we have seen your report, we replace the affected stems at the prices on your confirmation, whichever you prefer. Royal Mail Special Delivery arrives by 1pm and our next collection leaves mid afternoon, so an on-arrival report usually means replacements travel the same day, anywhere in the UK. The complaints policy has the detail.

Days of flowers, cared for

Trim at an angle, fresh water every two days, away from radiators, direct sun and fruit bowls. Follow the care card in the FreshProof flow, written specifically for flowers that travelled in our gel, and your bouquet will thank you for noticeably longer. Flowers are flowers before they are a gift: the freshness & care policy is the two minute read that makes every bouquet better.
